Our Club provides funding and support to local organizations such as We Care Food Pantry and Citrus County Food Bank. We also provide funding and labor to Rise Against Hunger which packages food for distribution to needy countries around the world.
More than 2.5 billion people lack clean water throughout the world. At least 3,000 children die each day from diseases caused by unsafe water. We support the Rotary International Foundation in providing relief service throughout the world.
Our club provides support to Lecanto Primary School by giving dictionaries to each 3rd grader, shoes and clothing to needy children and other materials where required. This year our focus is on providing LPS with a technology upgrade effecting all 3rd graders .
Since 1985 Rotary members have helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children against Polio. Today, all but two countries are free of polio. Our club donates money each year to Rotary International Polio Plus Fund which has joined with the Gates foundation to finish the job.
What is happening?
A great first meeting in President Michele's year, with Dr. Michelle Sivich from Save Our waters speaking about the progress in cleaning up our local waters. The 2nd Meeting featured Liz Fields giving an update on Rotary's Camp Florida The club donated $500 to the program.
Due to restrictions imposed by our meeting venue the Board has decided no longer meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Our meetings now start at 5:15 on the first, third, fourth and fifth Tuesdays of the month.Social hour begins at 4:45
