More than 2.5 billion people lack clean water throughout the world. At least 3,000 children die each day from diseases caused by unsafe water. We support the Rotary International Foundation in providing relief service throughout the world.
Since 1985 Rotary members have helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children against Polio. Today, all but two countries are free of polio. Our club donates money each year to Rotary International Polio Plus Fund which has joined with the Gates foundation to finish the job.
What is happening?
A great year came to a fitting end with a wonderful Installation Dinner highlighted by District Governor-Elect Eloy Nunez. In addition to installing President Janis Stacey and her Board of Directors, DGE Eloy installed our newest member Richard Crowley. In one of his final acts as President, Rick McCollum presented the Rotarian of The Year plaque to Kate Betsko for her outstanding service to the club and the community.
Our club provides support to Lecanto Primary School by giving dictionaries to each 3rd grader, shoes and clothing to needy children and other materials where required. This year our focus is on the Homosassa Boys and Girls club where we are building a robotics laboratory.
Our Club provides funding and support to local organizations such as We Care Food Pantry and Citrus County Food Bank. We also provide funding and labor to Stop Hunger Now which packages food for distribution to needy countries around the world.
